Abstract

Associations between neighborhood disadvantage and conduct problems are well established, but links from neighborhoods to depression are not. This study investigated whether neighborhood disadvantage before age 10 would predict depression in emerging adulthood. Neighborhood disadvantage predicted depression even after controlling for a wide range of family and individual risk factors.
