Understanding Patterns of Academic Strategy Use across a Developmental Trajectory and Gender

Abstract

The current study examines gender differences in motivational academic strategies across a developmental trajectory. Seven hundred and twenty-four primarily African American students were examined at the middle school, high school and college levels. Data suggest changes in pattern use of positive and negative academic strategies across developmental stage and gender.
