Abstract
Prosecutors’ application of mandatory minimum guidelines varies based on the race of the individual committing an offense, and disproportionally impacts Hispanic males. A longitudinal analysis of US prison data revealed increases in the percentage of incarcerated Hispanic males, and a large decrease in the percentage of incarcerated White males.
