Abstract

We explored the effects of sex and self-described masculinity, femininity, and androgyny on appraisal of stress, coping, trait-affect, and relationship satisfaction in a sample of 56 college students. Rather than reflecting distinct constructs, masculinity and femininity were related; both were predictive of positive affect and the use of constructive coping.
