The Impact of Defendant’s Weight on Mock Jurors’ Case Judgments

The objective of the current study was to examine weight discrimination and extralegal factors in the courtroom. Participants were randomly assigned to one of the three conditions (overweight, lean, control/no image) and asked to read a hypothetical check fraud case. Participants then responded to a series of courtroom judgments.
