A Person-Centered Approach for Understanding Employee Deviance: A Latent Profile Analysis of Role Conflict, Work Locus of Control, and Workplace Deviance

Abstract

A latent profile analysis examining self-report data was conducted revealing three distinct profiles. Non-Deviants reported the highest work internal locus of control, followed by Constructive Deviants and Destructive Deviants. Constructive Deviants reported similar pro-social rule breaking as Destructive Deviants, but the latter reported higher counterproductive work behaviors.
