Cosmetics Use, Self-Objectification, and Media Literacy

Abstract
A survey of 240 adult women examined the time spent applying cosmetics and number of products used. Though both variables significantly correlated with body surveillance and lack of confidence when not wearing makeup, makeup use was not associated with body appreciation (a measure of positive body image).
