Ethnic Identity, Perceived Discrimination, and Symptoms of Psychopathology in Ethnically Diverse Low-SES Young Adolescents

Abstract
In this sample of diverse low-income preadolescents, strong ethnic identity was associated with lower reports of psychopathology even after accounting for perceived discrimination, suggesting that ethnic identity may serve a critical promotive role for minority youths faced with discrimination in their daily lives.
