Sociocultural Correlates of Marriage and Divorce Rates in 106 Countries.

Abstract
Global marriage and divorce trends are examined in relation to economic and sociocultural conditions.
The systematic presentation of the contexts and correlates of marriage in 106 countries across six
continents indicates that seemingly intimate microlevel decisions about marriage and divorce are
strongly influenced by macrolevel social and economic conditions.
