Abstract

Society has encountered issues with how black females’ pain is recognized in medical settings. The present study manipulated gender and race with mental (depression) and physical (heart attack) health scenarios to evaluate perceptions of patients’ pain. Pain perceptions were determined, allowing for the discussion of biases to be examined.
