Abstract
The current study examined psychosocial traits known to be associated with academic performance (AP) among first- and continuing- generation college students: academic self-efficacy, optimism, goal orientation, academic stress. Group differences were found in the independent relationship between traits and AP, as well as mean differences in academic stress.
