Mathematics Education: The Unclear Relationship between Mathematical Ability and General Creativity

Abstract

The current study examines the relationship between mathematical ability and general creativity. Participants completed a mathematical ability measurement and multiple tests of general creativity. Mathematical ability correlated with some but not all measures of creativity. Results are discussed in terms of mathematics education and its effects on general creativity.
