Abstract
Examining 510 college students (160 male; 350 female), we (1) replicate findings that males outperform females on a mental rotation test; (2) reveal that males are more confident than females in judging their mental rotation performance; (3) determine that confidence fully mediates the sex difference observed in mental rotation performance.
