Abstract

The present study examined the relationship between adolescent non-suicidal self-injury, trauma, and cortisol reactivity to psychosocial stress. Results revealed NSSI group had significantly higher trauma experience and exhibited lower cortisol reactivity compared to adolescents without NSSI. Those with NSSI and greater trauma had the most blunted pattern of cortisol reactivity.
