Does Relational Memory Affect Selection for Consciousness?

Episodic memory has been traditionally associated with conscious awareness, yet recent studies show that episodic memories can be formed and used unconsciously. Here we tested whether relational memory affects selection of information for consciousness. The results suggest that if it does, its effect is small and hard to detect.
