Abstract

This study examined whether 104 ethnically diverse college students’ self-reports of both gratitude and optimism were independently related to their happiness. Both gratitude and optimism were independent predictors of students’ happiness scores cross-sectionally, and one month later after controlling for initial happiness scores, indicating their benefits are additive for happiness.
