Abstract
Coinciding with previous research on depression and naturalistic language use, depressed individuals are more likely to use negative emotion words and first-person singular pronouns (or discuss their negative self-focused experiences) when writing about a recent interaction with romantic partners or—to a lesser extent—close friends, but not family members.
