Does Social Support Have an Impact on the Relation between Stress and Depression in Treatment-Seeking Students?

Abstract
Stress-buffering effects in which social support reduces the impact of stress on depression have been inconsistently found. The current study in treatment-seeking students found that social support does not buffer against stress effects in this higher risk population, but may be generally beneficial in reducing depression by decreasing stress generation.
