Abstract

Face discrimination facilitates early social learning. Analysis of differences in neural correlates of face processing in nine-month-old infants revealed larger alpha amplitudes for stranger versus mother faces. Recognition activity at theta frequency was positively associated with alpha frequency attentional differences in stranger faces, suggesting differences in facial recognition processing.
