Abstract

The Relational Self-Schema Measure (RSSM) was designed to assess the experience of relatedness, autonomy, and competence need satisfaction and frustration when with significant others. 512 participants completed the RSSM. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed a four-factor model. Initial findings provide preliminary support for the construct validity of the RSSM.
