Abstract

The current study investigated how certain tendencies may inhibit women from advocating for themselves in their careers. Results revealed that although self-advocacy increases with experience, women are more likely to value perfectionism over self-promotion. These results highlight how we can reduce gender discrepancies in the workplace.
