Abstract

The present study examined cognitive reappraisal as a mediator between attention inflexibility and adolescents’ anxiety symptoms. As hypothesized, slow disengagement from interpersonally salient stimuli predicted cognitive reappraisal, which mediated the relationship between attention disengagement and youths’ anxiety levels. Clinical implications are discussed.
