Abstract

The primary aim of this study was to identify predictors of varenicline-assisted smoking cessation at 2-year follow-up. Participants included 118 smoking veterans prescribed varenicline. Overall, 31.7% of participants remained abstinent at 2-year follow-up, with only amount smoked predicting sustained cessation. Varenicline appears to be effective for long-term cessation in veterans.
