Abstract

In 23 voxel-based morphometry studies (N=6,788), greater BMI was associated with decreased gray matter volume in the right orbitofrontal cortex (FWE, p=0.05). Functional connectivity between this region and regions associated with tasks of emotion, working memory, and social function did not differ between healthy and overweight participants.
