Abstract

We examined a possible inverse relationship between holistic processing in words and faces. Two tasks assessed behavioral measures of holistic processing in words and faces: inversion sensitivity and a composite task. We found subjects that exhibited more holistic word processing showed less holistic face processing, supporting our hypothesis.
