Abstract

We test whether social support and collective action explain why group identification is beneficial for women’s wellbeing after perceiving sexism and ask if the benefits differ depending on socioeconomic status. Data suggest social support and collective action benefit higher SES women, but benefits do not appear for lower SES women.
