Abstract

This study identified specific barriers to adherence that are correlated with the personality traits conscientiousness and neuroticism, as assessed by the Big 5 Personality Test. Results indicate that low conscientiousness and high neuroticism are significantly correlated with certain barriers to medication adherence, including efficacy, side effects, and support.
