Abstract
During reminiscences with their children, Mexican mothers proportionally used significantly more emotion words than did African-American mothers. Although African-American mothers spoke more and used significantly more words than Mexican mothers, the two groups did not differ significantly in the quality of their reminiscences, as assessed by their elaboration-repetition ratio.
