Abstract

This study examined autobiographical memory and future thinking specificity in individuals with Chronic Pain (CP) and control participants. These findings showed that individuals with Chronic Pain showed reduced episodic specificity when imagining the future. Reduced episodic specificity for the future may be a previously unrecognized mechanism underlying pain-related distress.
