Factors Impacting the Revelation Effect for Autobiographical Memory Judgments

Abstract

One experiment studied aging’s impact on the revelation effect for past and future thinking. We found a significant revelation effect in the past, but not future, condition for young adults. The results were the opposite for older adults, who demonstrated a significant revelation effect in the future condition only.
