Abstract

Episodic future thinking (EFT), or vividly imagining oneself engaging in behavior at a future event, reduces immediate bias (delay discounting; DD). Across two studies we established a standardized control group and assessed whether the time periods of EFT cues need to match the DD task in order to be effective.
