Abstract
Soldiers training at the National Training Center (NTC), Fort Irwin, CA. for deployment to Afghanistan were measured with actigraphy to evaluate sleep health. Sleep behaviors are analyzed in relationship to mental health correlates, including depression and anxiety. Risks and policy suggestions for increasing soldier combat readiness are discussed.
