Attention to Social Events, Social Competence, and Child Gesture Production at 18 Months

Attention to social events is important for social and language development, but little research has examined an important precursor to language development: child gesture production. Thus, we explored relations among these three domains. Findings revealed social competence mediated relations between attention to social events and child gesture production at 18-months.
