Abstract

Are higher gratitude and interpersonal appreciation associated with being in a romantic relationship? Survey responses of 344 undergraduate students indicate that those in a relationship have significantly higher interpersonal appreciation, but not gratitude. This is consistent with the view that greater interpersonal appreciation fosters relationships.
