Abstract

Respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA; collected in the laboratory) and parenting (collected via self-report) were assessed cross-sectionally as predictors of inhibited preschoolers’ social play (observed in classrooms). Findings suggested that parenting interacted with RSA such that higher levels of RSA strengthened the positive association between nurturance and group play.
