Not so Black and White: The Role of Image Colour in Recognition Memory for Paintings

Abstract

We have observed a markedly conservative response bias in recognition memory for various sets of complex, colourful images, but it is not clear which image features are central to understanding this pattern. Here we explore the potential role of colour by comparing recognition memory for grayscale and full colour paintings.
