Abstract

Whether assessing the performance of a particular statistic under varying conditions or determining the power to detect an identified effect, simulation plays an important role in research today. This work illustrates multiple perspectives for simulating multilevel/longitudinal data in popular software packages, including STATA, Mplus, and R.
