The Differential Mediation Effects of Basic Psychological Needs on Adolescent Authentic Leadership Development

Adolescents’ basic psychological needs and authentic leadership were examined prior to a youth leadership conference. Three statistically significant hierarchal regression models revealed the unique and differential effects of the basic psychological needs for autonomy (Adjusted R2=11.6%), competence (Adjusted R2=6.3%), and relatedness (Adjusted R2=8.2%) on the authentic leadership development of adolescents.
