Imagining Memory Palaces: How Object and Spatial Imagery Affect the Method of Loci

The method of loci (MoL) is an ancient mnemonic technique whose psychological mechanisms are unknown. In this study, 21 participants completed a recall task using MoL and completed one object and one spatial imagery skill test. The former predicted memory performance suggesting that MoL benefits from skill with imagining objects.
