Abstract

The Process Dissociation Procedure (PDP) has been used to estimate automatic and controlled processing. Similarly, several self-report instruments purport to measure variation in controlled processing. Three studies examined the relationships among several self-report measures and PDP. The results suggest that perceptions of processing are unrelated to PDP estimates.
