Abstract
In a study of 253 individuals with concealable stigmatized identities, we examine the role of disclosure and response communication style (as more or less direct) on disclosure experience positivity. Across a variety of disclosure experiences, our results suggest that the congruence of disclosure and response type benefits disclosure experience ratings.
