Abstract

Atypical frontal brain laterality (alpha asymmetry) measured via EEG is a proposed endophenotype for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). However, findings are inconsistent. Meta-analysis of existing literature combined with a large, new sample of adolescents confirms rightward asymmetry is a marker of ADHD, but effects are moderated by sex and negative affect.
