Introducing a New Four-Factor Measure of Political Attitudes

Many measures of political attitudes emphasize economic vs. sociomoral facets of political ideology. However, EFA of items addressing 29 specific policy issues in a new questionnaire revealed four distinct factors on the government’s role in: resource distribution/regulation; enforcing sociomoral codes; responding to foreigners via immigration/trade; and protecting against dangerous others.
