Abstract

Epidemiological data on the burden of distress and suicidal thoughts and behaviors (STB) are nearly absent in economically developing countries. We studied the prevalence and predictors of depressive symptoms and STB among a nationally representative sample of adults in Turkey. Connectedness played a protective role, especially for the elders.
