Abstract
Like depression, boredom-proneness (the tendency to become bored) is associated with negative appraisals of the past and a pessimistic view of the future. Conversely, recent state boredom (the affective experience of boredom), is associated with positive appraisals of the past and expectations that the future will be interesting and enjoyable.
