Abstract

This longitudinal investigation evaluated the influence of community violence exposure (CVE) on childhood delinquency by testing the mediating role of aggressive coping as a mechanism underlying predicted relations between CVE and increased delinquency. Findings supported this model, suggesting that coping is a promising intervention target for children in disadvantaged communities.
