Self-Control, Optimism, and Increased Flourishing College Students

Abstract

This study examined whether 104 college students’ self-reports of optimism and self-control were related to their flourishing. Both optimism and self-control were independent predictors of flourishing scores cross-sectionally, and self-control predicted increased flourishing one month later after controlling for initial flourishing.
