Abstract

Prior research indicates that at least 22% of firefighters report clinical levels of PTSD symptoms – much higher than in the general population. Findings from the present study support this prevalence rate and indicate that firefighter’s self-efficacy, job outcomes, and perceived barriers to treatment covary with self-reported PTSD symptoms.
