Abstract

This study examined cross-lagged and bidirectional relationships between school burnout and internet use. Results demonstrated that school burnout, after controlling for negative affect, predicted problematic internet use concurrently and twelve weeks later. Findings suggest further study of causal relationships as well as investigation into differential use of social media platforms.
