Abstract

Perceived task difficulty was significantly reduced following a 20-minute nap in comparison to no-nap in a within-subjects study of 23 college students. Nap-taking caused tasks to appear less difficult and more manageable. Studying nap-taking, task difficulty perception and objective effort may influence health and safety.
